Abstract

PURPOSE: To form metallic titanium alloy film having excellent corrosion resistance and heat resistance, by addition of antioxidant and reducing agent to a soln. of titanium chloride of specific pH, and by addition of aluminum chloride, chromic anhydride in addition so as to adjust the pH to a specific value, then by performing electroless plating with the solution.
CONSTITUTION: To 500cc titanium chloride soln. adjusted to 3W6pH are added 100cc AlCl3 soln., 200cc sodium citrate soln., 50cc glucolic acid soln. as antioxidant and reducing agent, then 300cc chromic anhydride, 200cc sodium hydroxide soln. are added to the soln. to prepare a mixed soln. adjusted to 2W4pH. Mg substrate is immersed into said mixed soln. and subjected to electroless plating, hereby a titanium alloy film is formed on the surface.
