Abstract
PURPOSE:Not only to increase the receiving sensitivity of the ultrasonic wave but to shorten the time duration of the received pulse, by setting the acoustic impedance of the acoustic matching component to 0.5-0.8 times as much as the geometric mean value of the acoustic impedance of the piezoelectric oscillator and the test subject. CONSTITUTION:Acoustic matching layer 3 is provided on the single surface of piezoelectric oscillator plate 1 via the 1st metal electrode 2a; and packing component 4 is provided on the other surface via the 2nd metal electrode 2b respectively. Maching layer 3 secures an acoustic matching between plate 1 and test subject 5, at its thickness is set to lambda/4 (lambda: ultrasonic wave generated from plate 1). Component 4 absorbs the extra ultrasonic waves generated from plate 1 to shorten the pulse duration of the ultrasonic wave. Here the acoustic impedance of 0.5-0.8 times as much as the geometric mean value of the acoustic impedance of plate 1 and subject 5 is set for the lambda/4 matching layer 3. As a result, nearly the maximum receiving sensitivity can be obtained, at the same time minimizing the time duration of the received pulse.
