Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a converter element with which the attachment state can be grasped accurately even though the substances to which the converter element is attached may differ, by mounting more than one unit of the piezoelectric element within the container with acoustic insulation by means of the sound insulating material. CONSTITUTION:Attachment component 3 and 4 composed of the alumina sintering component are welded to the receiver surface of piezoelectric element 1 for reception use as well as piezoelectric element 2 which generates acoustic emission signal AE for the artificial sound source use. Then shield plate 5 composed of the sound insulating component such as the rubber or the like is stored in container 6 between component 3 and 4 to isolate the both elements acoustically, and is then connected to the measurement device from element 1 and 2 via connector 7 and the shield line. Thus, the artificial AE wave is generated at one piezoelectric element and then received at the other element to decide the attachment state. As a result, the good attachment state can be kept at all times, thus ensuring the steady detection of the AE signal.
