Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase an efficiency of combustion of an engine, by causing a swirl flow motion in burnt gas reversely flowing into a combustion chamber from an exhaust line in the suction stroke of the engine simultaneously causing a swirl flow motion also in the mixture and promoting the swirl flow motion of the burnt gas.
CONSTITUTION: In a shape of circular arc along the periphery of an exhaust valve port 6 from the outer circumferential top wall of a combustion chamber 4, a swirl flow generating guide wall 14 is suspended, and burnt gas reversely flowing from an exhaust line 10 into the combustion chamber 4 through the exhaust valve port 6 partially collides with a circular arc hollowed inner circumferential face 15 of the swirl flow generating guide wall 14 and is reflected to make a strong motion of swirl flow collectively in the same direction after its action of focusing. This swirl flow motion is cooperatively acted with a swirl flow of new mixture from an intake valve port 5 to generate a strong swirl flow motion in the combustion chamber 4 thus to promote a growth of flame after ignition.
