Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction of a stereo display element caused by an undesired signal, by providing a detecting circuit that detects an undesired signal containing the frequency of an AM stereo display signal at an output terminal of a wave detection stage. CONSTITUTION:A detection circuit 22 consists of a pair of diodes 23 and 24 connected in the opposite polarity to each other, smoothing condensers 25 and 26 plus offset bias resistances 27, 28 and 29, and detects the signals approximate to the frequency of a stereo display signal. A level detecting comparator 30 detects the level of the signal detected by the circuit 22. An AM stereo display signal ID has a low frequency as much as 5Hz as well as a certain size. On the contrary, an undesired signal, which is caused by the S curve characteristics of a phase wave detection stage 6 during a tuning operation, etc., has a level of several hundred times as high as the signal ID. In this connection, by setting the reference level of a comparator 30 properly, a control signal can be produced in response to only the undesired signal.
