PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction and to ensure a quick reception of a desired electric wave, by installing a time constant circuit corresponding to a low-speed sweeping mode plus a time constant circuit corresponding to a high-speed sweeping mode and then switching these circuits in accordance with the working mode. CONSTITUTION:In a high-speed sweeping mode, a discrimination control circuit 20 detecting an IF signal given from a tuner 12 detects an electric wave higher than a certain level if caught through an antenna 11, and then delivers a switch signal. With this switch signal, switches SW1 and SW2 are switched to the side of a first CR time constant circuit 16 for low-speed sweep and to the low-speed pulse side respectively. Then the circuit 20 transmits a stop signal to a driving circuit 19 to stop the sweep at the time point when the system and the circuit become steady and the count number N of the circuit 20 becomes to a numerical value equivalent to the IF frequency.
