PURPOSE:To automatically produce alarm sound at a predetermined time when no radio broadcast is present, by providing the selection circuit which selectively selects the radio broadcast reception and the production of alarm sound with the output of the radio signal detection circuit. CONSTITUTION:When the output signal is present from the intermediate frequency amplifying circuit 4, the terminal voltage at the capacitor 13 is high and it is fed to the NAND circuit 16. Other input terminals of the NAND circuit 16 are high in potential since the switch 14 is switched. The output of the circuit 16 is low in potential. A high potential is fed to the control terminal 9c of the switching element 9 via the inverter 17, and the signal of low potential is fed to the control terminal 10c of the switching element 10. Accordingly, the element 9 is conducted, the element 10 is cut off, and only the output of the detection circuit 5 is fed to the audio amplifying circuit 6. When no output signal from the circuit 4 is present, only the element 10 is conducted, and the alarm sound signal of the alarm signal sound production circuit 8 is fed to the amplifying circuit 6.
