Abstract

PURPOSE: The reaction between thiophosphoric triester and hosphorus oxychloride gives the titled compound used as an intermediate of organophosphorus insecticide for agriculture under mild reaction conditions in high yield and high purity.
CONSTITUTION: The reaction of a thiophosphoric triester of formula I (R is 1W8C alkyl; R' is 1W8C alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl) with phosphorus oxychloride of formula II gives the titled compound of formula III such as O,S-dimethyl thiophosphoric chloride. The starting material given as formula I is obtained by reaction between an alkyl or arylsulfenyl chloride and a trialkyl phosphite.
