Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a pattern on a sheet with both embossing in alignment with the pattern and partly matte finish, by providing a pattern on a substrate sheet, which has a layer that has gelled partly by heat, using an ink including a foaming inhibitor or a foaming promotor, and then applying thereon a transparent curable synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: Foamable vinyl chloride sol 2 composed of vinyl chloride resin and a foaming agent such as hydrazides is coated on the substrate 1, and then it is caused to gel by heat. On the partly gelled sheet 1 is provided a pattern using the foaming inhibitor-containing ink 3a and a conventional ink 4 by conventional gravure or the like, and thereon the transparent curable synthetic resin 5 is applied. After a pattern is applied on the resin layer 5 using a matting agent-containing ink 6, it is heated to foam, so that a foamed sheet having matte parts 7 resulted from the effect of the matting agent and glossy parts 8 resulted from the effect of the synthetic resin layer is produced.
