Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform interpolation scanning without lowering frame rates and improve resolution and image quality by transmitting ultrasonic waves with one set of vibrator group and receiving the same with two sets of vibrator groups. CONSTITUTION:The reflected waves of the transmitted ultrasonic waves by progressive scanning from vibrators such as 8 pieces 1 set, etc. of an ultrasonic probe 1 are scanned and received by said 8 pieces 1 set of vibrators and are also scanned and received by similar 8 pieces 1 set, etc. of vibrators deviated by 1 pitch, at the timing deviated by the scanning period such as 1/2 pitch of the vibrators. The received information is stored into memories 4a, 4b by way of a multiplexer 2, and electrofocusing circuits 3a, 3b. When these storage contents are outputted by way of buffer memories 5a, 5b, and a switch 6 which is changed over in synchronization with the 1/2 pitch scanning, the video signal interpolated to 1/2 pitch, etc. is outputted without lowering frame rates, and the images of high resolution and high quality are formed.
