Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the provision of a heating body at the tip end of the head and make a printed letter vissible as soon as possible by a method wherein a conductor circuit provided between a base plate and a glass layer is formed by printing and calcining a specified conductor paste.
CONSTITUTION: The gold conductor paste containing 0.05W5wt% of a glass constituent is employed to form the conductor circuit. A thick film conductor circuit 13 is formed by printing said gold conductor paste on the alumina base plate 12 and calcining it and the glass layer 14 is provided thereon under exposing the end part of the circuit 13, further, the heating resistant body 15 and a thin film conductor circuit 16 are formed thereon, thereafter, the thick film conductor circuit 13 and the heating resistant body 15 are connected electrically by a contact electrode 17 and lastly an oxidation preventing layer 18 and an antiabrasion layer 19 are provided on the heating resistant body 15 corresponding to the place of printing to form the head for the thermal printer. Since the wetting properties between the thick film conductor and the material of the glass layer are proper, the forming position of the heating resistant body 15 may be positioned on the end part of the glass layer 14 adjacent the terminal end of the thick film conductor circuit 13.
