Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to begin a printing at all times since utilized ink may arrive at the melting temperature thereof instantaneously and make the press most suitable for an intermittent high frequency printing such as the printing of commutation tickets or the like by a method wherein a filmlike ink is utilized for repairing a part, from where ink is lost, of an endless ribbon for transferring. CONSTITUTION:When the ribbon 11 for transferring is sent by driving rollers 18, 20 together with printing paper 14 and is printed to the printing paper 14 by a thermal head 12, a part of the ink ribbon from where the ink is lost in corresponding to a printing pattern is generated. On the other hand, a ribbon 22 for recoating is sent at a speed lower than that of the ribbon for transferring 11 and heat fusible ink at the back side thereof is molten by the heating of a heater 25 while the molten ink is coated on the ribbon 11 especially to the part from where theink thereon has been lost. The recoating ink is not a solid ink but is the filmlike ink and may be arrived at the melting temperature instantaneously, therefore a rising time for the fusion of the ink is substantially zero and the transfer may be effected immediately at all times.
