Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the reproduction of the correct stereophonic feeling although the distance between the speakers is short, by supplying the sum and differential components of the 1st matrix circuit to the 2nd matrix circuit via the 1st and 2nd compensating circuits. CONSTITUTION:Both left and right signals L and R are once made to pass through the 1st matrix circuit 1 to be converted into sum component 1/2(L+R) and differential component 1/2(L-R) each. These components are sent to the 1st and 2nd compensating circuits 3 and 4 having transmission functions 1/K<+> and 1/K<-> each, and then returned to sum and differential signals L' and R' through the 2nd matrix circuit 2 to be applied to left and right speakers 5 and 6 respectively. Thus the correct stereophonic feeling can be obtained by the mutual effect at the sound field although the distance between the two speakers is short.
