Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an audience sense the sound with a wide acoustic image by passing signals from both the left and right channels through phase circuits with different phase characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A monophonic or stereophonic left channel signal is applied to an input terminal 1 and a monophonic or stereophonic right channel signal is applied to an input terminal 1'. The output from phase circuits 2, 2' with different phase characteristics are sent to a subtractor 6 to form a differential signal. The differential signal is divided into 2 signals through an amplifier 4; one signal is sent to an adder 6, the other is added to an adder through a phase inversion circuit 5 and each divided signal is added respective input signal. The tone colors of the signals added by the adders 6, 7 respectively are corrected by tone color correcting circuits 8, 9 and the corrected signals are applied to left and right speakers 12, 13 through amplifiers 10, 11.
