Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid a defective recording to a recording medium for an optical recorder/reproducer, by securing a recording mode only when a modulated signal is supplied. CONSTITUTION:The video signal supplied through a terminal 4 is fed into a synchronous separating circuit 401 to be turned into a synthetic signal (a) of a horizontal synchronous signal and a vertical synchronous signal and then supplied to a vibrator 402 which is capable of a retrigger. The time constant of the vibrator 402 is set longer than the horizontal synchronous interval. Thus the output of the vibrator 402 keeps a high level as long as an input video signal is connected to the terminal 4. Then a recording mode is obtained by switching an analog switch 404 via an OR circuit 403.
