Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled recording paper suitable for use in a high-speed facsimile, having excellent heat color fastness, moisture color fastness, heat resistance and water resistance, and particularly largely enhanced heat-sensitive characteristics, by incorporating a specified fluoran compound and a specified terephthalate ester compound into the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A fluoran compound of formula I (where R is 3-4C alkyl), for instance, 2-(2-chloroanilino)-6-(di-n-propylamino)fluoran as a color former, preferably, together with an acidic substance [e.g., 4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol (bisphenol A) compound etc.] for developing the color of the color former upon heating, is mixed with a terephthalate ester compound of formula II (where each of R1 and R2 is H, 1-7C alkyl, subst. or unsubst. phenyl), e.g., dimethyl terephthalate. The mixture thus obtained is coated on wood free paper or the like together with a binder, e.g., PVA, and dried to obtain the objective heat-sensitive recording paper.
