Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify circuit constitution by demultiplying the frequency of a chrominance signal and by recording the frequency-demultiplied chrominance signal on a recording medium by intercepting it nearly in a horizontal blanking period. CONSTITUTION:A color video signal arriving from an input terminal 1 is supplied to an LPF2 to separate a luminance signal and also supplied to a BPF3 to separate a chrominance signal. The luminance signal is supplied to a mixer 7 by way of a mixer 4, frequency modulator 5 and HPF6. The chrominance signal, on the other hand, is controlled by an ACC circuit 8 to a constant level and then a limiter 9 eliminates an unnecessary AM component. The output of this limiter 9 is supplied to a clamping circuit 10, which cuts off the input nearly in its horizontal blanking period. A signal extracted by the circuit 10 is demultiplied in frequency to half each by FFs11 and 12. The output of the FF12 is supplied via an LPF13 and equalizer circuit 14 to the mixer 7, which mixes the input with a luminance carrier signal to record the mixture on a mangetic tape 1. A color signal reproduced from the tape 16, after being frequency-demultiplied, is restored to a chrominance signal.
