Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid an excellent reproducing picture when a signal reproduced from a recorded recording medium is recorded on a VTR once, by adding at least one pulse in which the level is projected to the white side than the pedestal level to a horizontal synchronizing signal. CONSTITUTION:A composite color video signal applied to an input terminal 1 is clamped at a clamp circuit 2 and given to a mixer 3. The composite color video signal is inputted also to a synchronizing separation circuit 4 and the separated synchronizing signal is inputted to an additional pulse generating circuit 5. The additional pulse generating circuit 5 produces an additional pulse to be added to a given location in the horizontal synchronizing signal. The additional pulse is added to the composite color video signal at the mixer 3. The additional pulse is added that it is projected toward the white side than the pedestal level. After this signal is recorded on a VTR, when it is reproduced, color killer operation is made and the playback picture from the VTR is a white-and-black picture.
