Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the melting and solidification of ash, using the principal ingredients of ash as the substances of the low melting point and facilitate the recovery by burning slurry obtained by mixing a material formed by crushing a liquid such as water and solid fuel such as coal to the powder of a fixed diameter in a reducing atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: In a boiler 1 in which a plurality of burners 2 burning slurry are arranged, two burners 2a, 2b located at an upper stage section among a plurality of burners 2 are used as reducing burners. That is, wind boxes 3a, 3b for these burners 2a, 2b are mounted independently of wind boxes for other burners 2, and combustion exhaust gas is introduced to these wind boxes 3a, 3b through an exhaust gas fan 4. Air for combustion preheated by means of an air preheater 5 is supplied to the burners 2 located under the reducing burners 2a, 2b in approximate the same amount as the theoretical amount of air or amount slightly less than said amount. Air for combustion more than the theoretical amount of air is fed to after burners 17.
