Abstract
PURPOSE: To contemplate effective utilization of sawdust, etc. and combustible waste oil to prduce fuel which has high calorific value and can smoothly be burned, by mixing a particulate combustible solid material such as sawdust, etc. and combustible waste oil.
CONSTITUTION: At least one member selected from sawdust, rice hulls and wood chip is introduced into a mixer such as a mill. Waste oil such as engine oil is introduced into the mixer. Stirring is conducted to effect the mixing and the impregnation of the particulate combustible solid material with the combustible waste oil. The mixing ratio of the combustible solid material to the waste oil is 1:1W1:2 (by weight). The mixing ratio can be varied depending on temperature range required for combustion and the use of a combustor. When a high calorific value is required, the proportion of the waste oil is increased. Since sawdust is a porous material, the oil penetrates into holes, and thus, the surface area of the oil is increased. Air present in the holes serves as combustion air, and thus explosive combustion takes place. The explosive combustion of the oil aids the combustion of the combustible solid material, and the oil and the solid can smoothly be burned to produce a high calorific value.
