Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate an oil and water completely by a method wherein water to be treated containing an oil component is stagnated to separate the oil by floatation and the resulting concentrated oil component is picked up and subjected to roughly granulating treatment to carry out secondary floatation separation efficiently.
CONSTITUTION: Water T1 to be treated containing an oil component is stayed in a storage tank 1 to float and separate the oil component. This floated layer is drawn up by a draw-up apparatus and passed through a supply passage 3 to filter a foreign matter and, thereafter, supplied to a lower part of a treating tank 4 to be passed through a rough particle forming layer 5 filled with an adsorbing agent. An oil and water mixed liquid containing the oil component roughly granulated in said process is raised into a stagnation chamber 4B above the treating layer 4 to float and separate the oil component roughly granulated by staying. The floated oil component is flooded from an oil drawing passage 6 to be stored in a separation cylinder and residual water is precipitated to separate the oil component from a separation passage 6 and the precipitated water is returned to the supply passage 3. The water in the stagnation chamber 4B is returned to the storage tank 1 from a funnel 7 through a discharge pipe 8. By this method, the oil component in an emulsified condition can be completely separated.
