Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance cleaning performance to simplify the unit, by providing a charging equipment and an electric power supply unit in the tranfer part of the electronic copying machine and by applying a DC voltage and an AC voltage in the picture trans area and the picture nontransfer area respectively. CONSTITUTION:Single charging equipment 14 used commonly for transfer and discharge is provided in the transfer part, and the voltage applied to this charging equipment 14 is controlled selectively to apply a discharging corona to the picture transfer area (part which is not transcribed onto trasfer paper 4) on the photosensitive material drum. The AC high voltage output from power supply unit 16 is subjected to half-wave rectification by half-wave rectifier 17 and is applied to charging equipment 14. Thus, since the picture transcription area on photosensitive material drum 1 is transcribed onto transcription paper 4, the residual toner is little, and cleaning dependent upon cleaning unit 6 is easy.
