PURPOSE:To enable the increase of the number of the heat generating elements of each block of a thermosensitive head without executing a countermeasure for noises by a method wherein the heat generating elements of each block are divided into a plurality of groups, and driving time for the heat generating elements in the blocks is shifted every group. CONSTITUTION:When the picture elements of one block section (128 picture elements) are recorded to a register 3 from a picture element information generating circuit 1, a timing generating circuit 5 supplies the first block count trigger pulses BCT1 to a common selective circuit 6, and common drive signals CM1 driving the common lead of the first block are generated through a driving circuit 7. On the other hand, pulses DST1 are generated being delayed only by 0.1msec from the BCT1, and transmitted to the first picture element driving circuit 9, and the picture element drive signals of 1-64 are forwarded to a picture element distributing circuit 11. And pulses DST2 are generated being delayed only by 0.1msec from the pulses DST1, and sent to the second picture element driving circuit 10, and the picture element drive signals of 65-128 are transmitted to the picture element distributing circuit 11.
