Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid an adverse influence due to magnetic interference and to improve printing quality by a system wherein a printing time for each dot line is controlled in a dot printer using a printing head which has a printing wire arranged into a zigzag shape. CONSTITUTION:Dot data PD is divided by a data set signal DS in such a manner that data in the odd number is fed to an odd dot data bank 1 and then to first and second data buffers 3, 4, while data in the even number is fed to an even dot data bank 2 and then to third and fourth data buffers 5, 6. On the other hand, the odd dot data is sent to an odd dot printing magnet 11 via a selection circuit 13. At this time, a pulse having a width modulated corresponding to the number of dot printing magnets which are overlapped in driving is output from a drive pulse generating circuit 7 using signals from the buffers 3 and 6. Printing of the even dot data is run in the same manner as the above using a magnet 12.
