Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to burn coke continuously at constant rate for a long time by a method wherein flame guide tubes are provided at the lower side portion of a combustion chamber in the heater for the gardening greenhouse, whereby coke with specified quality is used as fuel.
CONSTITUTION: The flame guide tubes are horizontally protruded at the bottom section of the coke storage and combustion chamber 1. The coke fired by an ignition burner 10 is burnt at constant rate with the air from a primary air suction port 17 always at the location where the flame guide tubes are equipped. The incompletely burnt coke is burnt completely in a preheating chamber 3 with the secondary air flowing along round the combustion chamber 1. The coke used as fuel has an ash content of no more than 10%, a porosity of the order of 37%, a melting point of ash of no less than 1,250°C and a crushing strength of coke aggregate of no less than 90%. Accordingly, there occurs no production of clinker, no danger of crushing of combustion layer due to the pressure of increased coke storage and the continuous burning of coke at constant rate for a long time is achieved.
