Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the sealing capability by preventing the packing material swell out through a piston guide function obtained by providing an elastic material packing holder which can be compression-and-elongation-deformed by a cylinder inner pressure, as a sealing mechanism for a pistion and a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A packing holder 3a is provided between a piston 1 and a cylinder 5 and is fixed by using a gland 6. A ring 4 which has a groove 4a that leads a pressure P to an outer peripheral surface 3d of the holder 3a and a ring 2 which receives the pushing force by an inner pressure of the holder 3a are provided on the inner pressure side bottom of the holder 3a. Further, a packing 3c and 3b are provided at the inner and outer sides of the holder 3a for the packing 3b to act as a fixer and for the packing 3c to act as a mover. Further, the holder 3a is made from the elastic materials such as tetra-fluorine resin etc. Accordingly, when a pressure P is exerted upon the surroundings of the holder 3a, the holder 3a makes a contraction so that a gap delta between the holder 3a and the piston 1 approaches zero.
