Abstract
The disc brake actuator comprises a piston (16) which is sealed in a brake cylinder (17) by an elastomeric ring (55). The latter is seated in an annular groove (56) in the cylinder wall and compressed between the piston and the groove bottom. The cross-section of the groove bottom has a straight portion parallel to the cylinder wall (17) and a portion which is inclined relative to this wall. The length of the straight portion may be up to about four times, the axial lenghtn of the inclined portion.
