Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a coil permitting miniaturization and thinness by providing an insulating layer at the external circumference of a ferromagnetic material wherein conductive films are formed in helicoid shape on the insulating layer to compose a coil. CONSTITUTION:In a cylindrical iron core 1 formed by a ferromagnetic material such as permalloy, large diameter sections 4, 5 and taper sections 6, 7 are formed at the inside of opposite end sections 2, 3 and the intermediate section between the taper sections 6, 7 becomes a coil section 8. An insulating layer 9 is formed at the external circumference surface locating at the inside of the opposite end sections 2, 3 of the iron core 1 and then conductive films 10, 11 are formed on the insulating layer 9 (10 is a grounding layer to increase bonding strength). Next, notched grooves 12 are provided in helicoil shape at the films 11, 10 by cutting tools, laser, electron beam flux or the like at the depth reaching the insulating layer 9. The large diameter sections 4, 5 are used as the terminals of the coil 8. Such a coil can be used as a motor, an electromagnet or the like.
