Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform molding with less molding heat and better thermal efficiency when a thermoplastic resin foamed body is molded in molds, by forcibly injecting prefoamed particles into the molds having vents while the particles are being heated, and by rendering the particles to be softened and expanded by heat and pressurized at the same time. CONSTITUTION:Within molds consisting of male molds 3 and female molds 2 of Al or the like, is provided a molding cavity 1 to which is joined a filler 4 provided with an inlet 10 for heating air or the like and an outlet 11 for foamed particles. Through steam pipings 7, 7', 10 of the molds is introduced a heating medium such as steam and heating air to heat the molds. Through the inlet 10 of the filler 4 is introduced a steam and heating air at a temperature of 95-180 deg.C and a pressure of 0.5-7kg/cm<2> to suck and filled foamed particles such as foamed polystyrene or the like through the inlet 11 into the cavity. By injecting a heating medium via holes 5 in the steam piping 7 into the cavity 1, the filled foamed particles are heated and pressurized to be molded. As the particles are filled into the cavity while being heated and further are directly heated by the heating medium from the holes 5, 6..., they are heated for molding with enhanced thermal efficiency.
