Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the length of a cleavage automatically with high precision by detecting the same surface of a body to be measured as many partial areas by image sensors 2 and by storing binary-coded signals of the surfaces in a memory. CONSTITUTION:Through holes 21 and 22 of a body 12 to be measured, pins 41 and 42 are passed and a tensile load is applied repeatedly in the Y direction. The surface of a sample is scanned and detected by a camera 4 having line sensors arrayed in the Y direction. The camera 4 is fixed at a prescribed Z-directional position through a manual operator 13, interface 10 and controller 11 and moved in the X direction by a prescribed value l6 each through a table 1. The center of a detection sensor is aligned to a cleavage tip Q1 after prescribed energizing and the binary- coded signal of a picture in a concerning area 30 is stored in a memory M2. Then, the binary-coded signal of a concerning area 37 after the next energizing is also stored in a memory M1. On the basis of both the contents, the length of a cleavage is found. This operation is repeated to measure the length of the cleavage 26 automatically with high precision.
