Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the granulation of the additive for synthetic resins by melting and cutting into a given length the additive by means of frictional heat caused by rotation of a rotary knife provided inside a cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: The additive is supplied into the cylinder 3 through a hopper 2 at the upper end of the cyliner 3 of a granulator 1, where the additive undergoes the turning acton of a screw 4 to feed toward the tip direction of the cylinder 3 and when reaching the tip of the screw, undergoes the turning action of te rotary knife 5; The additive sent into the clearance between the the rotary knife 5 and a nozzle plate 6 is pushed against the nozzle plate 6 by the rotation of the rotary knife 5, where it is extruded from the nozzle plate 6 in a strand form while being melted by the frictional heat produced there and cut off.
