Abstract

PURPOSE:To preferably charge a transmission line by closing a reverse energization switch of a field coil and starting charging of the transmission line after the terminal voltage of an armature becomes zero, thereby preventing the self-excitation phenomenon of a synchronous machine. CONSTITUTION:When a transmission line is charged by a synchronizer S which has a switch 4 for shortcircuitting an armature coil and a reverse excitation power source 9A for energizing the field line 2 to reverse polarity through a reverse excitation switch 3A in a brake unit, the switch 3A is initially closed to erase the remaining voltage of the synchronizer S, a breaker is then closed to connect the synchronizer S to the transmission line. Thereafter, a field breaker 3 is closed to gradually excit the field coil 2 and to charge the transmission line. Accordingly, it can charge the transmission line at a predetermined charging voltage without adding any units by utilizing the reverse exciting circuit for the brake unit by eliminating the self-excitation phenomenon of the synchronizer S.
