Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the reliability and realize an energy saving, by dividing the feeding system of a terminal device into a battery feeding system and a commercial power source feeding system. CONSTITUTION:The signal transmitted through an optical fiber 1 is supplied to a photoelectric transducer 6 at the optical reception part operated by a battery 8 and converted into an electric signal. This electric signal is amplified through an amplifier 9 and then supplied to a change-over switch 10. Thus the switch 10 works to turn on the switch of a commercial power source, and a terminal device 30 starts working. As a result, a working confirmation signal is sent to a station via a fiber 41. At the station a two-way communication is performed via the fibers 14 and 41 after confirming the working of the device 30.
