Abstract

PURPOSE:To make detection of a fault generated in an address system of a storage device possible by storing word identification information in a storage module and comparing the same with the word information generated in accordance with the address. CONSTITUTION:When a read request is transmitted from a processor 200 to the storage device control part 101 of a storage device 100, the address from the processor 200 is held in an address register 102 in reponse to this, and a storage module 107 is accessed by way of a decoder 104, whereby the corresponding word identification information is read out and is stored in a word identification register 108. The contents thereof and the word indentification information outputted by a word identification information generating part 103 are compared in a comparator 110 in accordance with the address of the register 102, and when they do not coincide, an abnormality detection signal of a high level is generated from the circuit 110, whereby the fault generated in the address system of the storage device is surely detected.
