Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the operability of an electric-power load surveying system and prolong the life of the battery therefor by a method wherein said system is driven by means of the built-in DC supply source of a watthour meter in normal conditions and by means of a built-in battery only when its voltage is abnormal. CONSTITUTION:According to the rotation of a signal disc, a switch SW of a watthour meter 1 performs an intermittent switching operation, and a signal having positive and negative amplitudes is inputted between input terminals d' and c' of a load surveying meter 2 from a DC power circuit 10. Said voltage is supplied through a rectifying circuit S to an IC load 22 and through a pulse input circuit 21 to a counter as a watthour pulse as well. On the other hand, in case of a power failure, the voltage VB from a built-in battery 23 on the side of the load surveying meter 2 is supplied through a diode D2 to the IC load 22. Thereby, because the battery is used only when there is a power failure, the life thereof is prolonged, and the reliability of the load survey data can be improved.
