Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize the titled device and to prolong its service life, by a method wherein the formation of a liquid bearing is such that fluid is fed through a suction and a discharge path to a location where an outer circumference surface part of a cam ring makes contact with a thrust-receiving surface formed at an inner circumference side of a casing.
CONSTITUTION: Thrust-receiving planes 20 and 21 are symmetrically formed at an upper and a lower part of an inner circumference wall of a casing 1, while sliding planes 22 and 23, which are brought into contact with the thrust-receiving planes 20 and 21, respectively, are provided at an upper and a lower part of an outer circumference surface of a cam ring 4. Pressure chambers 24 and 25 are formed in the thrust-receiving planes 20 and 21, respectively, and are connected to suction and discharge paths 28 and 29 through connection paths 26 and 27, respectively. The cam ring 4 is positioned so that fluid can be received against the casing 1. This reduces a friction factor produced between the thrust-receiving planes 20 and 21, and the sliding planes 22 and 23 and permits the smooth movement of the cam ring 4.
