Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the vibration damping and reinforcing work of a thin plate component by a method wherein a prepreg sheet of ultraviolet ray setting fiber reinforcing resin is attached to a resonant surface of a thin plate component of such as a vehicle door and then the ultraviolet rays are radiated thereto for the resin setting purpose. CONSTITUTION:In the vibration damping and reinforcing work of the thin plate component of such as a door, roof and bonnet of an automobile. The prepreg sheet 11 is attached to the resonant surface 10 of the thin plate component through an adhesive layer 12, and then the ultraviolet rays are radiated thereto for the purpose of setting the resin of the prepreg sheet 11. The prepreg sheet 11 is made of a fiber base impregnated with an ultraviolet ray setting composition and B-staged and formed in a flexible sheet. As the ultraviolet ray setting composition, it is preferable to use an ultraviolet ray setting resin such as ethylene unsaturated polyester resin, a monomer of vinyl system such as stylene, methacrylate and the like, or a composition containing photosensitizer.
