Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an insoluble anode which withstands long-term use by electroplating platinum group metal on a conductive corrosion-resistant base material and applying the coating plating consisting essentially of platinum group metal thereon.
CONSTITUTION: Electroplating of platinum or platinum group metal is applied on the surface of a conductive corrosion-resistant base material, whereby the 1st layer is formed. For example, titanium, titanium alloy, zirconium or the like is used for the base material. Thence, platinum group or its alloy is coated on the top layer thereof, whereby the 2nd layer is formed. The 2nd layer seals the pinholes and unstuck plating parts of the 1st layer. Further, one or more kinds of platinum group metals and/or oxides are coated on the top layer thereof, to closely adhere the highly corrosion resistant film, whereby the 3rd layer is formed. The thicknesses of the respective film layers are ketp at about 0.5W1.0μ for the 1st layer, about 0.2W0.5μ for the 2nd layer, about 0.5W1.0μ for the 3rd layer and about ≤2μ in total.
