Abstract
PURPOSE:To inspect the inner bottom of a jar, by a method wherein laser beams, modulated in the radial direction of the jar, is irradiated to the inner bottom through the jar neck, and the laser beams, dispersing due to projections and fragments of glass on the jar bottom, are detected. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams from a laser transmitter 2 are modulated through the transmission of them through an shutting-off by a perforated disc 4, and after the incidence into a cylindrical lens 5, they pass through a beam-forming system 22 to be applied to a whole area of a jar bottom. A jar 1 is secured on a retaining disc 10 having a laser beam transmitting slit 11 at the center, and is caused to self- spin at an inspection position by means of a motor 6 and a turning roller 7. Photoelectric tranducing elements 12 and 13 are positioned at both sides with the laser beam transmitting slit 11 in the jar retaining disc 10 between, and detect the laser beams which are dispersed resulting from the existence of the projections and fragments of glass on the jar bottom.
