Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease troubles and simplify the structure by a method wherein a valve acting as a waste gate and an exhaust brake valve are integrated to construct a slide valve.
CONSTITUTION: A plate type slide valve 104 moving so as to cross pipings 4, 5 is inserted in a valve casing 101, and a valve hole 105 corresponding to a hole 103 of the valve casing 101 is perforated in the slide valvd 104. A change-over valves group 117W120 of a valve driving device 107 is automatically operated by signals from a main control unit 121 and the slide valve 104 is operated, in such a loading area as the operation of the exhaust turbo-supercharger 2 will not bring a specially good effect on the performance of the engine main body. Thus, the piping 5 is shut off and the engine is changed over for a nonsupercharging operation. With the operation of a brake, the change-over valves group 117W120 is operated correspondingly, the pipings 4, 5 are simultaneously shut off by the actuation of the slide valve 104, and the exhaust gas is shut in the engine to make the inside high-pressurized. Accordingly, a strong braking force can be applied by the exhaust brake.
