Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable connection to a power system by a method wherein a synchronous motor and a variable pitch-propeller type windmill are connected to the power system through frequency converters, and the converters are controlled so that the speed of revolution is held at prescribed speed and output does not exceed prescribed power. CONSTITUTION:A variable pitch-propeller type windmill 1 and a synchronous generator 2 are connected, and the output of the generator 2 is connected to a power system 20 through frequency converters 3, 5. The converters 3, 5 are controlled by means of a constant-power control circuit 12 while signals from a power detector 14 and a revolution speed detector 13 of the windmill 1 are inputted to the constant- power control circuit 12, and power constant control and revolution speed constant control are changed over by means of a decision circuit 15 and a generating set is operated. Thus, the generating set is controlled by means of the power constant control when wind velocity is sufficient and by means of the revolution speed constant control when wind velocity decreases, the voltage of the generator is made constant and connection to the system can be facilitated.
