Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop a motor at an accurate position by a method wherein the dimensions of applied voltage are changed in response to a distance up to a position where a rotor must be stopped from a present position of the rotor, and generated torque is altered minutely in cooperation with the control of time width. CONSTITUTION:A DC motor 2 is H-connected together with transistors Q, and connected to a power source 1 through a resistor R. Signals from an encoder 3 are given to a present position decision circuit 5, digital signals corresponding to a distance up to a position where the motor must be stopped are generated and a speed pattern is generated from a pattern setting circuit 6 on the basis of the signals. The pattern is computed by means of an arithmetic circuitry 7 together with the output of a speed detecting circuit 9, and duty is controlled through a chopper signal generating circuit 8. Thus, the dimensions of applied voltage to the motor 2 are changed when the motor is brought close to a stopping position while time width is controlled and torque is altered minutely, and the accuracy of stoppage can be improved.
