Abstract

PURPOSE:To control drive time positively without mounting any adjusting mechanism by a mechanism wherein relative acceleration at a transition period in case of the starting or stopping operation of a motor is detected, and proper drive time is obtained by the detection. CONSTITUTION:Output from a reference speed signal generating circuit 11 is compared with output from a tachometer 12 detecting the speed of revolution of a motor 16 used for transferring a magnetic tape, etc., and controls the motor 16 through an arithmetic circuit 14 to which the instruction signals of starting and stopping operation are inputted. The arithmetic circuit 14 computes reference speed at two points before the motor 16 reaches the fixed speed of revolution by output from a comparator 13 and time required until the motor reaches the reference speed and calculates relative acceleration, and controls the speed change drive time of the motor 16 on the basis of the relative acceleration. Thus, desired drive time in case of starting and stopping can be obtained without mounting a special adjusting mechanism.
