Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a copper coating layer by a method wherein a Cu-Nb alloy is melted, cast and, thereafter, stretched to form a filamentary stretched phase of Nb in a Cu matrix and a specific amount of Sn is plated thereon and subjected to diffusion treatment. CONSTITUTION:The Cu-Nb alloy is melted, cast and subjected to the stretch processing to form the filamentary stretched phase of Nb in the Cu matrix. To an outer periphery thereof, when an Nb amount is an A wt%, Sn is plated in such a range that an Sn wt% is adjusted to an amount more than 1/2 [(2,500+42A) - 50] and less than (2,500+42A) -50. Thereafter, the diffusion treatment is applied thereto to diffuse an Sn layer into an interior thereof to convert the Nb filament in the interior thereof to an Nb2Sn filament as well as to diffuse and substitute the part occupied by the Sn layer into the Cu layer.
