Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent mechanical sliding, remove the subsequent wear, and avoid the resultant noise during rotation by filling the gap between a rotor and a fixed side with magnetic fluid. CONSTITUTION:A disc target 1 is mounted on a rotor 2 with a nut 3. The rotor 2 has a bottom plate 14 on the bottom area and a ring type permanent magnet 4 is coupled inside. A pipe-shaped fixed shaft 7 is set to an anode substrate 5 on which a cooling fin 6 is provided. A permanent magnet 8 is arranged inside the rotor 2. There is a gap between the rotor 2 and the fixed shaft 7 or permanent magnet. The bottom plate 14 is loosely engaged with a certain gap to the fixed shaft 7 and this gap is filled with magnetic fluid 9. The rotor 2 is driven in rotation due to the rotary magnet field generated by a stator coil 13.
