Abstract
PURPOSE:To form an image pickup part of small-sized extremely simply, by providing two optical fiber groups; by supplying light from one optical fiber group, and by obtaining optical signals from the other optical fiber group. CONSTITUTION:Base ends of respective optical fibers in optical fiber group 3 face to LEDs arrayed on a substrate at fine intervals. While those LEDs are turned on successively and repeatedly at a high speed, original picture 1 is moved at a slow speed as shown by arrow P. Light passed through each optical fiber in optical fiber group 3 is incident to original picture 1 and the point of the incidence, while scanned fast along straight line Q-Q, moves at a slow speed as shown by arrow P. At each point of the incidence, reflected light has the intensity that corresponds to the density of original picture 1 and is incident to a nearby optical fiber in optical fiber group 4. The optical signal is supplied from the base end of the optical fiber group to optical fiber 7, through which optical signals in time-domein obtained by decomposing original picture 1 into picture elements is transmitted.
