Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect equipment connected to the output side of a gain control circuit by forcibly lowering the signal level of the output of the automatic gain control circuit by detecting its control signal getting saturated approximately at a maximum value limited by a circuit power voltage,. etc., by comparing the signal value with a reference value. CONSTITUTION:To a usual automatic gain control AGC circuit, detecting circuit 5 and gate circuit 7 are added. If the level of input signal S1 is beyond the range where AGC of the AGC circuit is exercisable or increases suddenly, control signal S3 of gain control circuit 1 is saturated at a maximum value liminted by a circuit power voltage, etc. The detecting circuit detects the saturated control signal being beyond the avairable range of AGC, the switching of gate circuit 7 is controlled by output S6 of circuit 5 to prevent an excessive output signal entering the next stage of the AGC circuit.
