PURPOSE:To maintain electrolyte at a constant concn., in a method of regenerating a waste developer by supplying an electric current to an electrodialytic vessel, by feeding water to a concn. chamber liq. in an amount corresponding to the extent of development to dilute the liq. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of an electric current to be supplied is set beforehand in accordance with the aging characterstics of ion exchange membranes, and it is corrected by measuring the aging charactgeristics under combined conditions such as each ion exchange membrane and the preparation of a developer. These data are programed, and the current density of each ion exchange membrane is controlled according to the program in order with the passage of use. A concn. chamber liq. in electrodialytic vessel 6 connected to developer tank 1 through a pump is stored in concn. chamber liq. tank 7 once, and water is fed to tank 7 from diluting water tank 9 in an amount corresponding to the amount of color paper P developed. The quantity of an electric current supplied to vessel 6 is corrected with current controller 10 according to a set program on the basis of the amount of paper P developed.
