Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve thermal efficiency by a method wherein a vapor flow path is formed into a wide hollow vessel into which a working fluid is enclosed, and a wick is arranged in parallel with the vapor flow path.
CONSTITUTION: A vapor flow path 5 is made up into a thin-plate-shaped hollow vessel 1, into which a working fluid is enclosed, width w thereof is wider than thickness t and, on upper and lower each surface thereof reinforcing plates 2 are mounted, and a wick 3 supported by a spiral metallic wire 4 is disposed in parallel with the vapor flow path 5. The working fluid can thermally be transported efficiently because both an evaporating section V and a condensing section C have wide areas and the working fluid is thermally transported in a multiple strip of vapor currents in the vessel 1. The installation of the reinforcing plates 2 inhibits the generation of the abnormal expansion and cracks of the vessel 1 even when pressure in the vessel 1 rises, and further improves thermal conductivity even when the generation widens the surface area of the evaporating section V or the condensing section C.
