CONSTITUTION:In a deflection control type ink recorder and particularly a multinozzle deflection control type ink jet recorder in which many ink jet ports are linearly arranged, a voltage Vcs for flying ink particles to a set deflection position Xds is detected, and a reference charging voltage Vci of the respective deflecting steps is obtained from the Vcs and the Xds to set the charging voltage corresponding to the respective deflecting steps. In a print recording, deflecting steps for increasing or decreasing the deflection amount in the sequence of the first to the L-th steps are sequentially energized by skipping in several steps to charge and energize a print.
